وَإِذَآأَرَدْنَآأَننُّهْلِكَقَرْيَةًأَمَرْنَامُتْرَفِيهَافَفَسَقُوا۟فِيهَافَحَقَّعَلَيْهَاٱلْقَوْلُفَدَمَّرْنَٰهَاتَدْمِيرًا

And when We would destroy a township We send commandment to its folk who live at ease, and afterward they commit abomination therein, and so the Word (of doom) hath effect for it, and we annihilate it with complete annihilationSimilar verses
