And when she delivered her, she said, “My Lord, I have delivered a female,” and God was well aware of what she has delivered, “and the male is not like the female, and I have named her Mary, and have commended her and her descendants to Your protection, from Satan the outcast.”And when she was delivered she said: My Lord! Lo! I am delivered of a female - Allah knew best of what she was delivered - the male is not as the female; and lo! I have named her Mary, and lo! I crave Thy protection for her and for her offspring from Satan the outcastAnd when she had given birth to it, she said, "O my Lord! Verily I have brought forth a female," - God knew what she had brought forth; a male is not as a female - "and I have named her Mary, and I take refuge with thee for her and for her offspring, from Satan the stonedAnd when she brought it forth she said, 'Verily, I have brought it forth a female' - but God knew best what she brought forth; and a male is not like a female - 'I have called her Mary, and I seek a refuge in Thee for her and for her seed from Satan the peltedso when he putted down he said my Sustainer indeed I putted down female Allah most knowing with what he putted down is not the male as the female and indeed I named Maryam and indeed I seek refuge for her in you and her offspring from the Shaytan the outcastGenerated from a table of word-by-word decisions, not written as prose. Arabic word order is preserved, so it reads stiffly and is not a substitute for a translation written by a person. Every verse is rendered, but the whole remains under review: words marked as judgement rest on weaker evidence than the rest and are flagged in place. No tafsir, hadith or existing translation was consulted.
